It was founded as an asylum and was previously called the Storthes Hall Mental Hospital (1929-1938), the West Riding Mental Hospital (1939-1948)and Storthes Hall Hospital (1949-1991). Storthes Hall Park is a nice place to meet new people and gel as a first year, other than that it's a bit of a joke. They raved about this 'great student bar' which holds the 'biggest events in town' but they're a shambles in truth. The gym on site is only useful if you want to run and the shop is a complete rip off.
